Liverpool have been chasing Brazilian international Andre for some time. Jürgen Klopp tried to sign the 22 year old in summer transfer window but the deal fell through. Now reports from Football Insider suggest that Fluminense, Andre’s current club, is ready to let him go for £30 million. The Brazilian has been performing well in the Brazilian league, and has attracted attention from many big clubs in Europe. However, Liverpool are leading the race to sign the midfielder from Fluminense.
Perfect midfielder for Liverpool
The Reds have been in market for a defensive midfielder for a long time now. Last week, there were reports that they wanted to sign Gabriel Moscardo if they fail to sign Andre. The 18 year old from Corinthians was kept as an alternative if the Reds fail to secure Andre. But the first choice midfield option was always Andre, the 22 year old being a defensive midfielder with capability to play as a box to box midfielder. Liverpool currently play Mac Allister in the defensive midfield, who is naturally an attacking midfielder. With the arrival of Andre, Mac Allister could play forward in the middle of the park. Unlocking his attacking abilities, while having a proper holding midfielder in the back. Andre likes to dribble and shoot from distance which can be a valuable addition of traits for the Reds in midfield.
