Liverpool and Chelsea battle for rising Corinthians star

Both Chelsea and Liverpool are looking to bolster their defensive midfield position in the transfer window. A particular Brazilian teenager has caught the eyes of Klopp as well as Pochettino. Chelsea and Liverpool are closely watching Gabriel Moscardo, who plays for the Brazilian side SC Corinthians SP. The 18 year old plays as a defensive midfielder for the Brazilian club. Reports suggest that several big European clubs are after the young midfielder including, Barcelona, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.





Chelsea and Liverpool battle for Moscardo

Chelsea had previously secured the likes of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia who were transfer targets of the Reds. The midfield duo joined Chelsea after snubbing Liverpool. Thus, Liverpool are determined to sign the 18 year old from Corinthians as his contract expires in 2026. Despite having several midfield options, Jurgen Klopp is determined to bring the young wonderkid to Anfield. Whereas, according to Fabrizio Romano, Corinthians received two bids from Chelsea during the summer. Corinthians replied with a higher price for the then 17 year old wonderkid. Chelsea have submitted their official bid in the summer, being officially in the race for the signing of Moscardo.

An 18 year old Brazilian wonderkid

The best young talents and future stars are known to come from Brazil, making it a scouting hub for major European clubs. But in the recent times, Premier League clubs are looking to strengthen their squads for the future from young South American talents. At the age of 18, Moscardo has already made 21 appearances for the senior side of Corinthians. Corinthians reportedly value the wonderkid at 25 million Euros and the player also wants a move to Europe. Now it’s the battle of bids between major European clubs with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona and others. The 18 year old has many great options regarding his next club.
