Liverpool‘s manager Jurgen Klopp held a press conference before their match and the hot topic was Trent Alexander Arnold.
TRENT AND HIS RECENT FORM
Trent’s performance was already in speculation as the right-back was nowhere performing the way he was as last year.
During the season 21-22 Trent gave 19 assists and 2 goals in 47 games making himself one of the best right-backs in the world right now.
Coming in this season, everyone had a lot of expectations from him but he nowhere stood up to his own standard as he only gave 2 assists in 9 games.
Trent’s lack of contribution in this season is opening up his lack of ability in the defensive criteria.
During the nations league, Gareth Southgate also felt no need to include Liverpool’s RB in the squad to face Germany in a 3-3 draw.

During the press conference, the most anticipated question was asked to Klopp about Southgate’s selection.
According to skysports, Klopp said
“Do we want to open this box? You are English journalists and we cannot discuss selections until the World Cup starts .
he also further added,
“Do we really want to open this box? You are English journalists and we cannot discuss selections until the World Cup starts”
Southgate in his defence said that trippier’s overall game is ahead of Trent’s.
although Klopp completely disagreed he would always pick up the 23-year-old right back.
Trent returned to the training in a bad mood and with a bad form
when sky sports inquired about Trent, Klopp said,
“Trent came back not in a party mood, but he accepts the manager’s decision because he is extremely bright.”
Trent’s season is not going like what the Englishman planned it to be and October seems like a redemption month for the young lad.
Liverpool will be playing 9 matches in October making it the perfect opportunity for Trent to prove his talent and secure a spot in England’s squad for the upcoming world.
Liverpool will be going head-to-head against Brighton and all eyes will be on Trent to see if he can bounce back to form or not.
