Arsenal are reportedly in agreement to extend the contract of William Saliba. Hence, the defender will extend his stay till 2027.
Therefore, the PSG transfer links will now go away for a few seasons. The Gunners are also looking to extend the contract of Martin Odegaard.
ARSENAL IN AGREEMENT TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT OF WILLIAM SALIBA
According to reports, Arsenal will extend the contract of William Saliba. The club are in agreement with the player and his agent. A report also claims that William Saliba will sign a 4 year contract with the Gunners. Therefore, it looks like the rumours of interest of PSG in the player will go away for a few transfer windows.
However, PSG continue to have long-term interest in the Arsenal defender. Although, the Gunners will hope that William Saliba plays wells and stays with them for the rest of his career. Manager Mikel Arteta considers William Saliba untouchable after a brilliant performance last season. He also considers Saliba as a core part of the team.
THE GUNNERS ARE ALSO HOPING TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT OF MARTIN ODEGAARD
According to reports, Arsenal are also hoping to extend the contract of club captain Martin Odegaard. The Gunners club captain is already happy at the club. However, the club are working hard with the agent of Odegaard to close out his contract extension. They want to avoid transfer rumours for the midfielder in the next summer transfer windows.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also said that Arsenal have already started discussions with Odegaard and his agent. He further said, “Arsenal’s new contracts plan continue as Martin Odergaard’s next one on the list — negotiations will take place soon. AFC Martinelli, Saka, Ramsdale and now Will Saliba until June 2027 are key part of the project.
It looks like Arsenal losing in the title race has made any changes in their long-term future planning. However, Mikel Arteta and the players will have to make sure that they now try to compete for all possible trophies from the next season.
