However, they have no interest in selling their club captain for any price. Although, the Gunners are ready to extend his contract.

ARSENAL WANT TO EXTEND THE CONTRACT OF CLUB CAPTAIN

According to reports, Arsenal want to extend the contract of their captain Martin Odegaard. A report also claims that they are going to offer him an extension till 2030. Hence, it looks like the Gunners have no intention of letting him leave the club in the future transfer windows. Football Journalist Paul Brown has also said that the club trust Martin Odegaard more than anyone.

Paul Brown further speaking on the Arsenal captain said, “Odegaard is the captain of this team, he runs it. If anyone tried to come in and sign him, I don’t think he’s going anywhere. “I don’t think anyone pays the kind of money that Arsenal want, but he’s definitely a £100m+ player himself now.” Manager Mikel Arteta also trust his abilities as a player and as the captain.

MARTIN ODEGAARD WILL ALSO HAVE NO ISSUES WITH EXTENDING HIS CONTRACT

A report also claims that the Arsenal captain will have no issue extending his contract with the club. This is because his career has transformed the right way after he joined the Gunners from Real Madrid. The midfielder has also excelled under the management of Mikel Arteta. Mikel Arteta has also believed in the captaincy of Martin Odegaard this season.

The risk of making a 23-year-old the captain of the club has also paid off for Arsenal. Arsenal are currently 6 points clear of Manchester City on the top of the Premier League table. Martin Odegaard also links quite well with the midfield of Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka. Hence, at the moment, Martin Odegaard knows that sky is the limit for his development with the Gunners.

Arsenal are reportedly looking to continue signing young players with high potential in the future transfer window. Hence, they will need a captain like Martin Odegaard to settle the youngsters quickly in the team. Although, the main target for the club and the captain this season is to win the Premier League.
