Trindade admits he’s been following Liverpool man closely after Anfield link

Liverpool

Liverpool transfer target Andre Trindade has admitted to being a big fan of Jurgen Klopp. The Reds are heavy favourites to sign Andre.

Who will play in the Copa Libertadores final for Fluminense this evening.

In the build up to the final, the 22-year-old has been on press duties. And with Liverpool’s interest in him pretty much public knowledge, the Reds have been on the agenda. Asked this time by Spanish outlet AS ‘how he would feel under Jurgen Klopp,’ Andre gave a candid answer.

“I follow the outside games a little bit and I know that their [Liverpool’s] work is exceptional,” said the midfielder.

“Without a doubt, he is a great coach, very intelligent and successful. But at the moment, my coach is Diniz, a person who I appreciate a lot off the field and who understands my style of play. I know how much I’ve grown in the field under his guidance.”

Andre makes Liverpool admission

As well being asked specifically about Klopp and Liverpool, Andre was also questioned about whether he is set to have a new club soon.

“I don’t like to project too much into the future,” he answered. “I’ve been at Fluminense for 10 years, I have a contract and I’m very happy here.

“Reaching the final of the Libertadores is a childhood dream, and I just want to enjoy the moment with my teammates, we are fighting to win this important title for the club.”

It’s clear just how much respect Andre has for Fluminense, and this is likely something Klopp himself will appreciate too.

Nevertheless, it seems virtually certain that the Brazil international will be on his way to Europe in January. Given the way he has talked about Liverpool and Klopp, it would be a surprise now if he didn’t end up at Anfield.

The Reds’ interest has been more or less an open secret ever since the summer. Given how he’s driven his team to an historic final this evening, there’s no reason Liverpool’s admiration for Andre should have changed.

All the best tonight young man, hopefully we’ll see you working under Jurgen very soon!
