Klopp

Liverpool are on the lookout for a midfielder and are weighing the possibility of making a bid for Atletico Madrid‘s Marcos Llorente.

The Reds gaffer Jurgen Klopp has faced a lot of wrath from the fans for not having made a quality signing in the midfield. Moreover, with the injuries that Liverpool are currently down with, their season seems to have been affected so far.

After the 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford, the midfield appeared to be exposed and broken down. However, it now may be time for Klopp to turn to the market to bolster the squad for the season.

Current Premier League Standings

Liverpool turn attention to Marcos Llorente

Earlier, Klopp was content with the existing players who took up the midfield role on the pitch. However, it is understood that after the United fixture, Klopp seems to have second thoughts regarding the midfielder.

Liverpool have turned their attention towards Llorente, someone who has flourished under Diego Simone in the La Liga outfit. Moreover, Llorente even made an interesting gesture that has headlined the news sparking off exit rumours.

Back in 2020, the midfielder scored a brace against the Merseyside-based club in the last-16 tie of Champions League. The night proved to be a very special one for the Atletico ace and he wanted to savour the moment.

Just weeks after the match, the midfielder made a new addition to his family with a pet dog. In honor of Liverpool match, Llorente named his pet dog “Anfield”.

Klopp will surely need to make a reinforcement in the midfield for the season before the transfer window concludes. Liverpool have come to terms that the squad at the moment is not a title-competing side but could change.

It will be interesting to see what kind of profile Klopp brings to the midfield to bolster the squad.
