Jurgen Klopp has a severe injury concern before the opening Premier League match

About Football Express UK

Jurgen Klopp recently flagged off a grave ‘injury concern’ before Liverpool starts off their Premier League campaign against Fulham this week.

The potential injury threat has come to one of the Reds’ prodigies and upcoming star Curtis Jones.

The 21-year-old was restricted from playing the last game of their pre-season tour. The match was against the German side Strasbourg.

Current Premier League Standings

The medical department of the Merseyside club was the one that ruled him out of the match. Moreover, they proclaimed that ‘further tests’ need to be conducted on the player before the seriousness of the injury could be approximated.

Therefore, it now seems that Liverpool have to scout for their midfield options.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has long been out with a severe injury. Therefore, if the Reds are dealt another blow, Klopp would face problems after just concluding their pre-season preparations.

Klopp recently stated that the Merseyside club could make a fourth midfield signing. Now, if the injury is serious, Liverpool would have no option but to think about that proposition seriously.

Moreover, it now looks that the Reds could be making a signing soon.

This was to be a better year for Jones where he could showcase his talent. However, the injury came at the wrong time and could dampen his initial part of the season.

What does Jurgen Klopp have to say about Curtis Jones’ injury?

Klopp told liverpoolfc.com,

Naby is ill, so no. Curtis, we have to see.”

“[There] was no impact or whatever, so that always makes it a bit, ‘My god, what could it be?”

“We had no time; he felt it today and he wanted to play desperately, but then the medical department said no and that we needed to make further tests.”

“We will do that tomorrow and then we will know more.”
