Current Premier League Standings

“He felt something in his hamstring.

“He had tests, but it’s not serious. Konate needs a bit of time to not take any risks. It’s an area where he already has an injury. It wasn’t in his interest or mine (to call him up). In the best of cases, he could have been training only Friday or Saturday.”

Hamstring injuries are always tricky to deal with. But Deschamps’ words should be music to Liverpool fans’ ears at this moment in time.

The France boss revealed that the best-case scenario is that Konate will be back in training this weekend for Liverpool. If that happens, he should be fit for the big game against Manchester City. Moreover , this comes right after the international break.

We’re sure Klopp will be really pleased that Deschamps has allowed Konate to stay back in England. This is so that the Liverpool medical staff can get him ready for the trip to the Manchester.

Liverpool fans would be hoping that they could get this win so that they can go an top of the table for the first time this season. This would mean that they could continue their way to their title charge this season by beating their rivals.
