Hakim Ziyech’s move blocked

About Football Express UK

With Hakim Ziyech looking for an exit, the Chelsea forward’s move to Manchester United reportedly has been blocked by the United seniors.

United boss has managed Ziyech at Ajax from 2017 to 2020, and it is claimed that he is interested in a reunion with the Morocco playmaker at Old Trafford. French journalist Nabil Djellit states that there is strong interest from United Manager in Ziyech. The Red Devils boss sees the forward as one of his ‘priorities’ this transfer window.

The report further claims that chiefs at Old Trafford have put a stop to the move. They seem to be not sure over a contract for the 29-year-old, who is evidently free to leave Chelsea this summer. Hakim Ziyech joined the Blues from Ajax in July of 2020. Since then he has represented Chelsea in 83 matches in all competitions. He contributed 14 goals and 10 assists during his tenure till now. Hakim Ziyech played 44 matches for Chelsea the previous season. He netted the ball 8 times and provided 6 assists. But he still has mostly struggled to do justice to his potential since arriving at Stamford Bridge.

The Moroccan playmaker has won the UCL, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup during his tenure at Chelsea. Also, he still has another 3 years left on his contract with Chelsea. United and other football fans clearly spot a trend with the Dutch manager consistently showing more faith on players that he has managed before. Many United fans are not happy with ten Hag pushing for an almost 30-year-old Chelsea reject.
