Former Tottenham Hotspur player, Ledley King went to On The Judy Podcast and talked about an Arsenal player he admits is good. King was talking about William Saliba from Arsenal when he said that he admits the defender is a good player. Appreciating a player from their arch rivals is not something we see very often in football. But the player’s ability made it hard for the Spurs legend to not acknowledge it. The 22 year old has been rock solid for the Gunners this season. He is a regular starter for Arsenal with continuous and consistent good performances. When the host of the podcast praised Saliba for his performance against Erling Haaland and Man City, the Tottenham legend agreed.
The host said,
“I’m going to big up someone, Saliba pocketed Haaland and kept him quiet,”
To which King agreed,
“He’s a good player,”
The host then said,
“We won’t get into that, I’m Arsenal, you’re Tottenham,”
To which King replied,
“We don’t need to get into that, but we’re flying man, we’re flying,”

The Centre back has been vital for Mikel Arteta’s plans for Arsenal and has a good grasp on the game in such an young age. Saliba joined Arsenal back in 2019, but was sent on loan numerous times before he could become a regular starter for the Gunners. The French international has won two FA Community shields with Arsenal in 2020, and 2023 respectively. A player of his caliber has huge potential, and might become one of the best defenders in the world. However, he must continue to perform consistently for a secure future under Mikel Arteta.
