Chelsea owner Todd Boehly hints at changes to Stamford Bridge. Boehly bought Chelsea from Abramovich. Many things might change at the club including the stadium.
What Chelsea fans should expect from Todd Boehly?
Chelsea fans should be excited about Clearlake Capital’s £4.15 billion takeover. The Club is keen to grow their home ground. Stamford Bridge has a capacity of over 40,000 but can pack more. By expanding the ground Chelsea will increase their revenue by selling more numbers of tickets.
However, as part of the sale agreed with Abramovich, Boehly and his partners will have to commit £1.75 billion investment towards the Club including changes in the stadium.

“There was a planning permission . Its lapsed so we have to start again. We are at the beginning of that process. You either redevelop the existing stadium or you take it down and build a new one on the site. We’re very tied to Stamford Bridge -the Chelsea Pitch Owners are part of that process . We’re going through our own educational process. “
He added,
“We’ll then consult with fans, consult with local authorities and I would hope over the next twelve months,I will be able to tell you how we will proceed .”
With new signings on their way to Chelsea, redeveloping the Stadium can be the next thing on the list for Todd Boehly.
