Arsenal and Ivan Toney have been connected for a long period. They were linked almost immediately after the summer transfer market closed.
Thus far in this January, Gunners are moving to finalise this deal. Since, the rumoured, to have the striker as a priority target, even they need an excellent no.9.
In fact, as the winter window approaches, Rudy Galetti claims that the North London club is already moving towards signing Brentford striker.

Arsenal aren’t wasting any time in getting this deal
According to reports, the “world class” striker is very interested in joining Arsenal. And it appears that the Gunners are the favourites in this saga.
As Galetti notes:
“Chelsea and Manchester United are also interested, but it’s difficult to argue right now. That a player should choose to play for the Blues or Red Devils over the Gunners.”
“Forget about it; Ivan Toney is an ambitious player.”
It won’t really matter if Toney signs on January 1st because he will still be prohibited from playing football until the middle of the next month.
He won’t be able to have an effect on the pitch for a few weeks yet. But those early training sessions might help him adjust.
Arsenal is moving forward with this, and it will be interesting to observe what kind of headway they can achieve in the upcoming weeks, since Brentford is probably going to demand a high price for Toney.
It’s unclear whether this trade will go through, but it seems Arsenal does want Toney gone by the end of the month.
