Everyone involved with the most popular sport in the world was deeply saddened by the news on Friday that the former Chelsea and Juventus striker had passed away after a protracted battle with pancreatic cancer.

A highly beloved person in the “beautiful game,” both for his contributions on the field and off it. He has passed away, and fans, players, managers, magazines, and others are expressing their condolences.

Vialli inspired Italy to victory at Euro 2020 and led Juventus to Champions League glory. He inspired future generations of football fans with his influence on the game he so loves.

Graeme Souness and Vialli Teammates

He enjoyed two incredibly successful years at Sampdoria between 1984 and 1986 with Graeme Souness, with whom he most definitely left a lasting effect.

After his illustrious tenure with Liverpool, Souness spent two seasons with the Serie A team. He won the 1984–85 Coppa Italia, in which he and Vialli each scored in the championship game.

Souness had nothing but positive things to say about the illustrious Italian. During his life he was one of the most loving players.

The former European Cup-winning midfielder spoke to Sky Sports on Friday in response to Vialli’s demise and let his emotions out while paying a moving homage to his late buddy.
