ARSENAL MIDFIELDER MOHAMED ELNENY SIGNS A CONTRACT EXTENSION WITH THE CLUB

According to official website, Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has signed a contract extension. He will now stay with the club till the summer 2024. The midfielder is currently out for this season due to injury issues. However, Mikel Arteta has decided to back him for the next season. Therefore, the midfielder will have a big role to play for the Gunners next season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has also said that they have given him a contract extension because he has stood with the club during bad times. Mikel Arteta speaking on Elneny’s extension further said, “Our way of treating people, our way of living together and what we expect from people is to give the maximum. When it is the other way around and things become difficult, I think the club have to behave in the right way,”. However, Mohamed Elneny had opportunities to leave the Gunners on a free transfer.

THE EGYPTIAN MIDFIELDER HAD INTEREST OF THREE CLUBS TO SIGN ON A FREE TRANSFER

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, three clubs wanted to sign Mohamed Elneny on a free transfer in next summer transfer window. However, the main priority of the midfielder was to continue his career with Arsenal. Although, the interest was from clubs in Spain, Italy and Turkey. Hence, he had the opportunity to continue in Europe.

Fabrizio Romano further said, “Mohamed Elneny has officially signed a new contract at Arsenal until June 2024. Elneny decided to sign a new contract as he loves the club, feels really good at Arsenal and has a great relationship with Mikel Arteta. It wasn’t a difficult choice for Elneny, despite interest from clubs around Europe. Elneny had approaches from Italy, Spain and Turkey, but Arsenal was always his priority.” Hence, it looks like Elneny is fully loyal to the Gunners.

There is also a chance that Mohamed Elneny will start his coaching career with Arsenal. This is because many of the senior players sometimes train the U-18 team. Hence, it looks like many fans also expect Elneny to become like Jack Wilshere.
