Liverpool hopeful in signing Aurelien Tchouameni this summer

Aurelien Tchouameni

Last summer transfer window, Liverpool exerted significant efforts to secure the signing of French international Aurelien Tchouameni. However, the player ultimately chose to join Real Madrid instead.

The Reds’ attempts to attract an alternative player were unsuccessful. Hence, as a consequence, they faced significant challenges during the last campaign. Thus, ultimately resulting in their exclusion from the UEFA Champions League for the upcoming season.

As reported by Spanish source Nacional, Real Madrid is open to considering and engaging in negotiations if they receive a compelling offer to transfer Tchouameni.

According to the Catalan outlet, Liverpool has put forward a bid of 60 million euros for the 23-year-old midfielder’s transfer. However, Real Madrid is seeking a minimum fee of 80 million euros (£68.5 million) to finalize the deal.

Are Liverpool desperate for Tchouameni?

Neil Jones asserts that Liverpool is keen on acquiring the services of the midfielder this summer. However, the possibility of Real Madrid agreeing to the transfer may hinge on their ability to secure the signing of Kylian Mbappe. The journalist shared this insight with Caught Offside.

Tchouameni possesses versatility in his playing style, excelling in both the No. 6 and No. 8 positions on the field. Notably, he played a crucial role as a member of the France squad that reached the final of the FIFA World Cup last year. Hence Liverpool might get a significant boost in midfield if they can recruit him.

Real Madrid boasts a roster of high-quality midfielders, including Modric, Kroos, Camavinga, Valverde, Ceballos, and the significant signing of Jude Bellingham. It is possible that the Frenchman may not secure regular starting opportunities under manager Ancelotti in the upcoming season.
