Juventus agreeing on deal to sign Liverpool striker

Roberto Firmino

Italian club giants Juventus are close to agreeing on a deal to sign Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino in the transfer window.

Liverpool are on the verge of losing yet another forward this summer as Juventus have shown interest to sign Firmino. The Reds have witnessed the exit of Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich earlier this summer in the transfer window.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s side eventually secured the services of Darwin Nunez from Benfica as a marquee signing. With Nunez’s arrival, Firmino regular spot in the Liverpool side does not seem guaranteed this coming season.

Liverpool ace to join Juventus

Just before the Champions League final, the Brazilian was asked about his future with the club next season. He expressed his view to Brazilian outlet TNT Sports Brasil, he said-

“I want to stay,”

“I’m very happy here. I’m grateful to God to be here playing at a great club with great players, winning titles, and my wish is to stay.

“I want to be here, I’m happy here, and that’s all I can say. I want to stay.”

Liverpool manager Klopp spoke on Firmino but did not reveal too much about his potential exit this summer. He said-

“Bobby is crucial for us. Bobby is the heart and soul of this team.

The way we played in the last few years was only possible because of Bobby,”

“That’s why I’m really happy that he could train the majority of the time here in pre-season so far.

“Everything looks really good. I’m absolutely fine, for me there is no doubt about his quality.

“All the rest, we will see how this year goes. But yes, he is essential for us.”

Juventus will soon make an offer for the player to Liverpool in order to land him in Turin this season.
