“He was almost there” : Reports show that how close the Asian superstar was to joining Liverpool last season.

After losing their star winger Sadio Mane, Liverpool have been looking for a perfect replacement ever since. The Senegal forward was drawing intrest from the German Giants Bayern Munich. He finally signed for them. Moreover, Firmino had already left for middle East. Only their prolific scorer Mohammed Salah was the danger man remaining in the forward line. Recently, reports have been coming that Liverpool were close to get a perfect replacement for Mane. As the rumors have it, He was almost there in the team.

We are talking about the South Korean magic man Son Heung Min. Reports say that he was likely to make a move to Anfield. But then Tottenham Hotspurs made it to the champions league spot. Son signed a contract extension after this.

After missing out Son, the Reds have been signing players like Darwin Nunez from Benfica and Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven. Though they are trying their level best to perform for the team, But the level Son would’ve brought is different.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been targeting Son from his Bundesliga days. He tried to bring him in for Dortmund. But the Asian Superstar preferred playing time over high profile team and he went to Bayer Leverkusen. According to sportsbible, the German manager openly admits that he made a mistake about not signing Son.

“One of the biggest mistakes in my life is not signing Son Heung min.” -Jurgen Klopp said.

However, it seems that the Reds have moved on from the loss of this signing.With just one lost and two draws in the first 10 games, they sit at the 4th place in the league. They’re aiming for nothing less than the table top.
