Sheikh Jassim could takeover Manchester United’s ownership

‘Manchester United PLC is about to be sold,’ according to a financial news website in the United States. They go on to say that Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, who placed the last purchasing bid earlier this month, is the most likely winner of the United sale.

A Mergers and Acquisitions source told Benzinga: “The results [of the sale] from a bidder perspective will already be known.”

“I’m genuinely not sure what the hold up is here.”

The two frontrunners to take over the club are Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. However, Nothing has been confirmed yet. Supporters have remained agitated while both men await news. The 1958 group held a peaceful protest outside the Theatre of Dreams yesterday. They were requesting the Glazers to vacate the club immediately.

United’s latest financial results were announced on Tuesday, indicating that their summer transfer plans are unaffected. According to football financial specialist Kieran Maguire, the newest results have driven the club forward into a possibly record-breaking year for income, but the figures aren’t all good news ahead of a prospective takeover this summer. Despite increased commercial and matchday revenue, United reported an operational deficit of £4.7 million for the three months ending March 31, 2023.
