ARSENAL FORWARD SHARES HIS PREFFERED POSITION
Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard has shared his preferred position in an interview. He has said that he prefers to play in behind the main striker. At the moment, Martin Odegaard is the main man for the position. Whereas, Trossard plays a main striker because of injured Eddie Nketiah and just fit Gabriel Jesus in the squad.
The new January signing for Arsenal has also said he has no problems in playing different positions. He further said, “I like to be in the pocket behind the striker. On the wings, I can explore myself as well. I’m comfortable in either of those positions but if I were to choose, behind the striker – but it all depends on the system.” The Belgian international could return to bench after Gabriel Jesus returns to full fitness.
JAMIE CARRAGHER PRAISES THE PERFORMANCES OF LEANDRO TROSSARD
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has also said that he prefers Trossard over Kevin De Bruyne in his current team. He has also said that Kevin De Bruyne’s performances are not up to the mark. Hence, he prefers Trossard at the moment. He has also said that Trossard has helped Arsenal manage the games without the availability of Gabriel Jesus.
The Liverpool legend further said on the Arsenal winger, “Right now he’s number one. There’s nobody [better],” . “Normally we would say Kevin De Bruyne is the best midfield player, not just in the Premier League but the world, but something isn’t quite right.” Hence, it is clear that Brighton have made the biggest mistake of only selling him for 26 million.
Whereas, the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that Trossard is now a very important part of the team. Hence, there is a chance he will start the next game against Sporting in the second leg of the Europa League at home.
