The Gunners are also currently five points ahead of second placed Manchester City. Hence, it is a fair thing for Jamie Carragher to praise the Gunners for their performance.
The Liverpool legend speaking on the form of Arsenal further said, “A big thing we should give Arsenal credit for, I think when Jesus got injured they were five points clear of Man City. “How long’s he been injured? Three months? They’re still five points clear. You’ve got to give them massive credit for that because there were a lot of questions asked. He’s about to come back and he was an absolute revelation in those early months.”
THE GUNNERS COULD ALSO HAVE LEANDRO TROSSARD AND EDDIE NKETIAH ON THE SIDELINES
According to reports, Arsenal could face Sporting C.P without the likes of Leandro Trossard and Eddie Nketiah. Both of the players have suffered injuries. Hence, their involvement is doubtful for the Europa League game against the Portuguese giants. The striker Eddie Nketiah has also provided update on his injury on the social media.
Arsenal striker further writes on social media, “Minor setback, major comeback!”. Hence, it looks like the Gunners could play Gabriel Martinelli as a striker. Emile Smith Rowe can also lead the line. However, he himself has not played much this season because of his injury troubles. Therefore, the Gunners will hope that before the Sporting game, they do not have more injuries.
This is because Arsenal are also going to include academy players in the match-day squad. Hence, the youngsters could have an outside chance from the bench. Although, the onus is on the regular players to help the team qualify for the next round.
