About Football Express UK

Manchester United could engineer an exit for Scott McTominay after the signing of Casemiro from Real Madrid in the transfer window this summer.

The Red Devils midfielder has been a subject of interest for a few clubs across the English top flight. It is understood that Everton, Southampton, and Leicester City are to make a swoop for the midfielder in the window.

Also, the player has faced much criticism for his performances on the pitch with United as he has been unable to click. Moreover, the arrival of Casemiro from the Los Blancos outfit will see him slip down the pecking order.

McTominay could leave Manchester United

The Scottish international may consider leaving United this summer to join another Premier League outfit for the new season. Moreover, the Red Devils are discussing the possibility of making his move on a loan transfer in the window.

Erik ten Hag has still not given up on signing Frenkie de Jong and still wants him at Old Trafford. However, the Barcelona midfielder does not intend to join the Mancunian side in any manner possible this summer.

Moreover, the Dutch international believes that if were to move, he will join a Champions League playing side, unlike United. Whereas, ten Hag wants changes in the squad starting with the midfield, and is heavily invested in the transfers.

The new signing in Casemiro will see McTominay make fewer appearances for the club if he is to stay. Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed the midfielder’s move saying-

“I have spoken with Casemiro. He wants to try a new challenge.

We understand his decision.

“Negotiations are ongoing but he has decided to leave Real Madrid.”

Manchester United will play Liverpool at home in their third fixture on Monday which proves to be a real test.
