Liverpool and United target Konrad Laimer to reject Premier League move

Reports from Germany say that midfielder Konrad Laimer will likely not move to Anfield. Instead, he will make a switch to Bayern Munich.

Liverpool had wanted to sign the Austrian and was considering making a move in the January window. The 25-year-old would be out of contract at RB Leipzig at the end of the season and he could have been crucial in reinforcing an aging Liverpool midfield. Manchester United has also been linked to a move for Laimer.
New information, however, reveals that the player indeed wants to move to Bayern Munich.

How Konrad Laimer may move to Munich

Reports say that Laimer has agreed on terms with the Munich management for a free transfer in the summer. However, the deal may be moved ahead with Leipzig to sign him in the winter instead, in exchange for a fee.

Laimer’s preference for Munich over Liverpool is unsurprising. The Reds are in a bit of a slump, while Bayern Munich remains one of the wealthiest and most successful, and most consistent clubs in Europe and Germany. There is a language barrier to consider as well.
