Kepa is injured in the right abductor, expected to out for three weeks

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Kepa somehow managed to live something of a dream come true during the summer window as he finally got the chance to play for Real Madrid. But, Kepa is injured seriously and will be out of the pitch for quite a long time.

The Chelsea goalkeeper was almost Los Blancos’ first choice stopper some years ago. It was all for the relative bargain price of €20m, before Zinedine Zidane ruined everything after deciding he wouldn’t be an improvement on Keylor Navas.

That saw Athletic Club Bilbao hike his buyout clause, and, in the not too distant future, Chelsea paid the lot, €80m, to take the Spaniard to London.

Things didn’t really work out and Thibaut Courtois, the player Kepa was supposed to replace at Chelsea, picking up a serious injury presented the chance of a loan to Real Madrid.

That loan is going relatively well.., but there’s now a hiccup.

Kepa is injured in the right abductor:

Friday’s edition of AS reports Kepa is ‘injured in the right abductor’. That means the Chelsea owned player will be out for three weeks.

Fortunately for him, at least from a club perspective, much of that will be covered by the upcoming international break.

What happens next summer with Kepa is still very much in the air.

Kepa dreamt of playing in Real madrid for long. Though he actually came on loan, his wish was to be a permanent signing to the club after the loan ends. His performance was very good during his tenure at Chelsea. He aim to achieve greater heights to reach the level of Thibaut Courtois.

Courtois was out for the entire season due to injury. So real madrid nedded to sign a goalkeeper. However, they took Kepa from Chelsea on loan. And as a replacement of Courtois, Kepa is performing pretty much well till date. He seems to enjoy playing in the club of his own country.
