Chelsea are weighing the possibility of landing Anthony Gordon from Everton this summer in the transfer window as an attacking reinforcement.
The Blues have seen the exits of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner this summer and are on the lookout for a forward. Thomas Tuchel is keen to secure his signature and add him to the squad before the transfer window concludes.
Everton gaffer Frank Lampard has been impressed with his performances and understands that he is a vital player. However, Chelsea are set to hold discussions for a possible move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Chelsea want Anthony Gordon this summer
The 21-year-old has emerged as a top target for Tuchel as the manager wants to bolster the attack of the squad. However, the club is also pushing a move for Aubameyang from Barcelona as an immediate requirement up front in attack.
What appears to be obvious is that Chelsea are in need of a forward despite having signed Raheem Sterling. Moreover, the club is open to the idea of splashing £60m for the Everton forward to secure his services.
However, London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also in contention to sign the Everton youngster with Chelsea this summer. According to Daily Mail, the Blues are open to offering a fee of £50m with a further £10m in add-ons.
The Toffees manager spoke in an interview regarding the player’s potential move to the Bridge this summer. Lampard said-
“Gordon’s our player, everyone knows of Chelsea’s interest…”.
“We have a good relationship, ideally [a quick resolution to the situation] or we carry on and he’s our player”,
It is still to be determined if the Blues will further push for Gordon’s move to the Bridge this summer. Certainly, the coming weeks will be key for the developments in the player’s future.
