The Arsenal captain has also said that it was a clear penalty. He further said, “I’m pretty sure I should have had a penalty. He’s coming with his studs right on my ankle. But I’m sure I’ll get punished [if I say anymore]. I don’t bother saying anything else about the referee. It’s better not to say anything. Norway’s manager Stale Solbakken also supported his captain’s arguments.

Stale Solbakken also said that he is confused with the referees decision to not give it as a penalty. He has also called the tackle on the Arsenal captain a ridiculous tackle. Stale Solbakken further said, “It is a clear penalty! He finishes the shot and you can’t [foul him after]. If I knock someone down after the ball is gone, then it’s a penalty. I get a little bored of this.”

Arsenal fans were also not happy with the challenge of Manchester City midfielder on their captain. They have also labelled the challenge as a reckless challenge. However, in the end, the fans and Mikel Arteta will also feel happy that Odegaard played the rest of game without limping.
