Arsenal are desperate to sell Rob Holding with besiktas interested

Arsenal

Arsenal defender Rob Holding may be in a tricky situation after Besiktas turned to Southampton ace Lyanco instead of him.

Besiktas are on the verge of signing Southampton defender Lyanco. That is despite rumours of a move for Arsenal’s Rob Holding.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that a deal has been agreed for Lyanco to join Besiktas this summer.

It’s stated that Lyanco will sign a four-year deal with Besiktas. This also will bring his time at Southampton to an end.

Rob Holding is not even the preferred back up at Arsenal anymore

It now looks like Rob Holding has lost his place even as a back Centre-back after the new signings. Timber has come in to take the right back role which means Ben White will be shifted back to Centre back. That means the possibility of Holding playing is negligible.

It was suggested that Holding was mulling over a move to Turkey. After having seen Arsenal go for Dutch star Jurrien Timber.

Besiktas were considered to be leading the race. But have now gone in another direction by going for Lyanco.

Both are right-sided centre backs. And it feels like Besiktas will be signing one or the other rather than both of them.

Maybe Holding didn’t fancy a move to Besiktas. Maybe Besiktas preferred the longer-term option in Lyanco than a loan for Holding. Either way, this is one exit that appears to be closing for Holding this summer.

The 27-year-old is unlikely to feature much next season with Timber now on board. He is joining William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Jakub Kiwior, Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu. That is as potential centre back options for Arsenal.
