According to reports, Manchester City want to sign Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney in the next summer transfer window. The Gunners are also open to selling him for the right price. Kieran Tierney also wants to leave the club because of lack of game time this season. Manchester United former star player Cole has also said that Tierney will not be short of options to move in the next summer.
He further said on the Arsenal left-back’s future, “I like Kieran Tierney, he’s had a few problems with injuries but he is talented. If Arsenal are prepared to sell him, he would not be struggling for options. “If Manchester City are in for him, I could see that working. Tierney will want to play, and if he doesn’t continue to get any game time, he’ll be looking to go somewhere else in the summer.
NEWCASTLE UNITED ARE LEADING THE RACE FOR HIS SIGNATURE
The report also claims that Newcastle United lead the race for his signature. Magpies manager Eddie Howe likes the player. Hence, Tierney is one of the priority options for them in the next summer transfer window. Therefore, Manchester City are not the only one’s in the race. The Gunners are asking a transfer fee of 30 million to sell him in the next summer transfer window.
Newcastle United currently have Dan Burn playing every game in the left-back position. However, Eddie Howe wants to sign a more attacking left-back to compete with Matt Targett with the spot. Hence, this will mean that Dan Burn is the back-up option to the center-back position. Whereas, the Magpies will try to sell or loan out Jamal Lewis in the next summer.
Hence, Manchester City need to make moves fast in the next summer. This is also because the magpies have already created the base for the signing of Tierney.
