Why is Fabio Carvalho not playing as a Liverpool player?

Liverpool

Fabio Carvalho felt as though it was his Liverpool career’s turning point.

A warm night on August 31 at Anfield. As Newcastle United’s worn-out defence failed to cope with a ball into the box in the eighth minute of stoppage time. Carvalho, who was hiding near the far post, hooked the ball into the roof.

With his arms out and his eyes wide with happiness, Carvalho dashed past the Newcastle supporters. And approached the corner flag before falling to the ground and being embraced by his teammates.

That was a crucial goal for Carvalho in a crucial game for Liverpool. Who had struggled to get off to a good start this year. His first goal for the team had actually come four days earlier in a lopsided 9-0 win over Bournemouth, but even though it wasn’t his first, it still felt like a strong statement from a kid who had only turned 20 the day before.

In their debut games for Jurgen Klopp’s team, Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2022, were able to lead the Reds to Community Shield triumph — proving that even so-called “lesser” silverware can still award winners’ medals.

It appears unlikely that Liverpool will win any more awards this season. As they compete for a top-four finish and prepare for Real Madrid’s last-round elimination from the Champions League. As a result, six members of their squad will have to wait a little longer to receive sign-touching clearance.
