Man United was knocked out of the Champions League yesterday with 1-0 defeat to German champions Bayern Munich. United couldn’t even reach the knockout stage of the competition, as they got eliminated in the group stage. They are 10 points behind league leaders Liverpool in the Premier League. Former Man United Legend and pundit, Roy Keane talked about the current condition of the club. Roy was confident that he would only keep some of the players from the squad and let go of the rest. Also, Roy Keane urged that the United squad needed a revamp with offloading deadbeat players and bringing in promising new players. Talking to Ian Wright, Jamie Carragher and former United team-mate Gary Neville on the Stick to Football podcast, he revealed his seven picks.

Roy Keane names seven players he would keep from United squad

Keane named only seven players from the United squad out of 22 players. They were Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandez, youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount. Roy thinks that only these seven players are worthy for playing in the Red Devils jersey and represent the club. Rio Ferdinand in his podcast recently criticized Erik Ten Hag and his impact on players performances and their progress. This season United are out of options of winning a trophy so far. But Man United certainly need to change some things in order to turn their performance around and fight for titles next season.

United have several issues leading to bad performances

Roy Keane and others discussed several other issues regarding inside issues of Man United in the podcast. They discussed about players being late to trainings at the Carrington previously during the Covid period. Things like these highlight the internal issues United are facing in the dressing room and lack of discipline among the players as well. Man United need to change things immediately if they want to succeed, including transfers and man management. However, this might mean a change of manager and officials at the Old Trafford.
