Real Madrid reportedly want to sign a new goalkeeper this summer transfer window. This is also after Thibaut Courtois suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.
Hence, the Spanish giants are now exploring deals for a new starting goalkeeper this season. Therefore, Kepa and David De Gea are on the list.
REAL MADRID STAR GOALKEEPER SUFFERS A MAJOR INJURY
According to official statement, Real Madrid star goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will miss the start of the season with a major injury. The Belgian goalkeeper has suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury. A number of report also claims that the goalkeeper left the training ground in tears. Hence, it looks like Thibaut Courtois might miss the whole season.
Real Madrid have won many games in the La Liga and Champions League with his brilliant saves. He has also helped the club stabilise their defence in the recent seasons. The La Liga giants have also confirmed in their statement that Thibaut Courtois will undergo surgery in the next few days. However, most importantly , the La Liga giants will now explore a new goalkeeper signing this summer.
THE SPANISH GIANTS ARE EXPLORING A NUMBER OF GOALKEEPING OPTIONS
According to reports, Real Madrid have a number of goalkeepers on their list to replace Thibaut Courtois this summer. Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa and free agent David De Gea are high on the list. Whereas, a return for Keylor Navas is also not ruled out. The agent of David De Gea has already said that the goalkeeper is open to the move.
Whereas, Chelsea are also open to selling Kepa for the right price. Whereas, Keylor Navas is also not in the plans of Paris Saint Germain. Real Madrid only need a short term replacement. This is because Thibaut Courtois will reclaim his starting spot after getting fit next season. Hence, a young top goalkeeper signing looks ruled out.
Real Madrid are calm about the situation. However, the reality is they quickly need to sign a new goalkeeper to replace injured Thibaut Courtois this season. The La Liga giants are hoping to improve this season in the La Liga and the Champions League.
