Manchester United player rating vs Crystal Palace

About Football Express UK

Manchester United starts their new era under Ralf Rangnick with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace. The victory also marks the first time this season that the club kept a clean sheet at home.

The Red Devils have been showing a difference in the style of the play ever since sacking manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Against Crystal Palace, Manchester United have been extremely dominating. The team controlled the possession and was eager to win the ball back by pressing high.

While many changes were created, it took a 77th-minute goal from Fred to earn Manchester United all three points. The victory takes the Red Devils to 6th position in the table, while three straight losses mean that Crystal Palace drops to 14th.

Let us take a look at how Manchester United players rate against Crystal Palace in the game.

MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 CRYSTAL PALACE: PLAYER RATINGS

David De Gea (GK): 6/10

It was an eventless evening for the Spaniard, who this season has been one of the best players for Manchester United. With his side holding more possession, De Gea was not troubled much in the match.

Victor Lindelof: 6.5/10

With Crystal Palace not asking many questions, it was an easier evening for Lindelof.

Harry Maguire: 6.5/10

The club captain has been criticised in the last few weeks for his poor performances. Maguire had a comfortable evening, with the England international, even trying to set up his attackers with long balls.

Diogo Dalot: 7/10

The Portuguese is trying to make most of the opportunity as he replaces Aaron Wan Bissaka in the right-back. Dalot is more aggressive going forward and came close to scoring just before halftime.

Alex Telles: 7.5/10

Another full-back that is enjoying his playing time is Telles. With Luke Shaw injured and not hitting form, the Brazilian has been a wonderful replacement. He is crossing more to the box, taking shots and was solid in pressing the opposition.

Scott McTomminay: 6.5/10

Decent in the middle and looks set to continue his place in the starting eleven.

Fred: 9/10

The Brazilian has been the standout player of the day. He works extra hard off the ball, pressing his opponents. His shot from outside the box shows his finishing skill and something that he will try to add more to his arsenal.

Bruno Fernandes: 7/10

Bruno was his usual self, dropping back when needed to create chances for his team.

Marcus Rashford: 6/10

Ever since returning from his injury the English winger have not looked at his best. It was another average performance from him.

Jadon Sancho: 6/10

Sancho had a very silent game after some amazing performance in the last few matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo: 7/10

Questions were plenty whether Ronaldo can adjust to the high pressing system, but the Portuguese keep silencing his critics. Though he took a mammoth 5 shots in the game, the quality of the chances was low.

SUBSTITUTE

Mason Greenwood: 7/10

Greenwood has been in and out of the team this season. But the 20-year-old made the assist for the Fred goal.

Anthony Elanga: 6/10

19-year-old Elanga was given a rare appearance, pointing to Rangnicks affinity to give young players the chance.

Donny van de Beek: 6/10

The Dutch international will be hoping to impress the new boss to cement his position in the main team. But the 10-minute cameo was more average than outstanding.
