Kylian Mbappe hinting to leave Paris Saint Germain

About Football Express UK

Paris Saint Germain striker Kylian Mbappe is dropping hints that he is set to leave.

The French International has a contract with PSG for 6 more months. After that, he will become a free agent and any club can offer to sign him. Mbappe also revealed months ago that he has no desire to extend his stay in Paris.

Kylian told Prime Video Sport

“It’s not easy. Whatever happens, I’m going to play for a big club.”

As of some months ago, Real Madrid were the frontrunner because they could match PSG’s request. Despite bidding £120 million PSG stalled Madrid’s request.

Mbappe is also in great form this season after scoring 9 goals and having 13 assists in 21 games throughout all competitions.

Are Real Madrid planning for more than Kylian Mbappe?

Amongst the pandemic when many clubs struggled financially, Real Madrid have done well to manage their finances. The Los Blancos even managed to build their new stadium.

They closed the 2020/21 year with a positive outcome of £874000. Their debt in the 2019/20 season fell from £240 million to £46 million in the 2020/21 season.

If Paris Saint Germain fail to keep Kylian Mbappe then, Real Madrid being the frontrunner for him will get him as a free agent. Whereas on the other hand, Erling Haaland is also a target for almost every big club.

Since the Los Blancos are doing well in finances they can easily get Mbappe as a free agent and compete with other clubs for Haaland.

Do Real Madrid actually need Kylian Mbappe?

If Madrid cannot get Mbappe then the club will not look for any other alternative. They are then most likely to focus on Erling Haaland.

This is because of Vinicius Junior’s impressive performance this season. Many criticised the Brazilian for his lack of finishing but he has improved significantly since last season’s UCL match against Liverpool.

Vini has 12 goals and 7 assists in 21 games across La Liga and the Champions League. He scored a wonderful solo goal against Shakhtar Donetsk and also scored another sensational winner against Sevilla in the 88th minute.

Madrid also have Karim Benzema with them who was excellent last season and this season as well. Benzema has been underrated for Madrid over the years because of the presence of Ronaldo and Bale. He is providing consistent goalscoring numbers this season as well having 17 goals and 8 assists over 20 appearances in La Liga and Champions League.
