Manchester United on the lookout for left back reinforcement

Manchester United

Reports indicate that Manchester United is considering an unexpected solution to address their left-back injury crisis. The club is looking to secure cover in that position before the transfer window closes.

As reported by German outlet BILD, Bayern Munich is apparently contemplating a surprising loan move for Manchester United’s midfielder Scott McTominay. The move is an effort to acquire a defensive-minded enforcer before the transfer window concludes.

Ryan Gravenberch is a possible target for Manchester United. According to the same source, there is speculation that Netherlands international could be part of the deal in a swap arrangement. That is between the two clubs involving loaned players.

Manchester United looking for left back options

In a surprising development, Manchester United reportedly initiated “initial contact” with Tottenham Hotspur. That is regarding Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Spurs are said to open to the possibility of offloading the 28-year-old if a suitable proposal emerges for his transfer. According to information from Sky Sports.

Erik ten Hag previously collaborated with Hojbjerg during their time at Bayern Munich. He seems to be considering the Danish midfielder as an option for holding midfield. Additionally, reports suggest that Fiorentina’s midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is also under consideration by the Dutch coach for a similar role.

According to 90min, Luke Shaw is currently on the sidelines due to a muscle injury. He’s accompanied by Tyrell Malacia on the list of unavailable players. This situation led to Diogo Dalot filling in the left-back position during Manchester United’s 3-2 victory against Nottingham Forest in the previous weekend.

Manchester United has reportedly initiated contact regarding two left-back options, Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella and Barcelona’s experienced full-back Marcos Alonso. The club is seeking to strengthen its options on the left side of defense before the transfer window closes.
