Manchester City are about to complete the second deal

Man United

Following the unexpected purchase of fullback Joao Cancelo to Bayern Munich, the Premier League champions, who have had a tumultuous end to the transfer season, are allegedly close to agreeing on their second acquisition of the month. Manchester City are on the verge of a deal with a 20-year-old Argentine.

Maximo Perrone, a 20-year-old midfielder, signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues earlier this month. He signed the deal at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City are soon going to sign a deal for the 20-year-old for £8 million. However, it is unclear at this time whether he will play for Pep Guardiola’s team this year. Joao Cancelo has recently left the City squad and Perrone needs to show his class to gain Guardiola’s trust.

After agreeing to a contract to sign teenager Lewys Benjamin from Cardiff City, Fabrizio Romano claims that Manchester City are now close to finalizing a deal for a second signing.

The goalkeeper has signed paperwork and is undergoing medical exams in preparation for a potential move. He now plays for Cardiff’s U16 team and has represented Wales at the U17 level.

According to Romano, Benjamin will join Manchester City in the summer.

City won’t be adding to their starting lineup on Deadline Day. But they are planning a busy summer with a potential dramatic reorganization of Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Also, at the conclusion of the current season, Ilkay Gundogan’s contract expires. Bernardo Silva has already made clear that he may play elsewhere in Europe.

With Bayern Munich having the option to purchase the Portuguese international for €70 million, Joao Cancelo’s departure is also anticipated to become permanent. Manchester City now plays Tottenham in the first week of February.
