Liverpool in pursuit of even more midfield reinforcement

Liverpool

Liverpool might make a last-minute transfer move for a player who draws comparisons to Claude Makelele. Jurgen Klopp aims to solidify his team before an eventful season begins.

During this summer, Liverpool has already secured three midfield acquisitions: Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, and Wataru Endo. These three players were part of the starting lineup that secured a victory against Newcastle United. However, reports say that Klopp intends to enhance the team’s depth further before the window closes on Friday.

As Liverpool prepares to contend on multiple fronts this season, the possibility of additional transfers remains open. Now, Ronald de Boer has expressed the suggestion that the Merseyside team should consider adding another substantial midfielder to their ranks.

Why does Boer think that Sangare will fare well in Liverpool?

Speaking to Voetbalnieuws in the Netherlands, the ex-Dutch international conveyed his belief that PSV standout Ibrahim Sangare, whom he likens to the iconic Claude Makelele, might still be a potential addition for Anfield.

“I think he’s a great player, I think he cannot be kept for PSV. He will still go to a real top team such as Liverpool.”

Football Insider asserts that West Ham United is seeking to secure Sangare’s signature, Kiki Musampa. A former Premier League player who now works as an agent for the Ivorian player verified to ESPN that Liverpool holds an interest in acquiring the talented star.

Furthermore, it has been reported that PSV has established a release clause of approximately £30 million. This indicates that Liverpool might be able to secure a cost-effective deal if they choose to activate the clause.
