Farhad Moshiri, Everton owner has reportedly put up the club for sale. Moshiri has invested 500m in the club in his six years at the club. However, these injections of funds into the club have had no effect as they remain a mid-table club.

Moreover, Everton went through their worst phase as they battled relegation. However, Everton managed to stay up within the final weeks of the season. Under Frank Lampard‘s guidance, Everton somehow managed to scrape something out of a forgettable season.

Moshiri’s departure

Moshiri decides to leave the club after the abysmal season and wants someone else to take responsibility. This comes as a relief for Everton fans as Moshiri was not well respected by the supporters. Like several other clubs, Moshiri was an owner who had little to no interest in the club. However, he was interested in the revenue which could be obtained from PR from the club.

Moshiri used to involve himself with the footballing matters of the club. Hence he ensured to sign players that could bring in revenue from shirt sales and other forms of PR. He ignored the manager’s wishes and muddled in Everton’s matters.

This has led to Everton’s significant downfall which is visible to everyone. Everton as a club had a lot of respect from other clubs. They were taken very seriously as a trip to Goodison Park was no laughing matter. However, Everton were on a degrading path which ultimately reached the pinnacle as they almost got pushed back to the Championship.

However, Everton somehow managed to stay up. Everton supporters are ecstatic at the moment as Moshiri’s tenure is over. Moreover, they are brimming with hope for the new owners. They will be hoping that the new owner can bring back their lost respect.
