Bruno Fernandes gives insight on Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation

About Football Express UK

Cristiano Ronaldo is looking to leave Manchester United in the coming days. Although the number of potential suitors for the Portuguese are looking slim at the moment.

Bruno Fernandes plays alongside Ronaldo at both the international level and the club level. Fernandes has opened up about the Cristiano Ronaldo situation.

“I don’t know what Cristiano said to the club and to the manager. I don’t know what’s going on in his head, if he wants to leave, I didn’t ask them that.

Obviously, Cristiano was our top scorer last season, he added goals to us. But it’s not on me, it’s the club that has to make the choices and Cristiano makes his own choice. From everything we know, he had some family problems so we have to respect his space, give him some space and that’s it.

The only thing I asked Cristiano when he didn’t turn up was if everything was okay with the family. He told me what was going on, that’s it and nothing more. I don’t want to be involved in that. We have to respect the decision of everyone.”

Ten Hag addresses the issue

Moreover, Erik Ten Hag also addressed the rumors regarding the great man and has told the media that United does not want to sell him.

“I am well-informed he also has an option, eh? Yes, but to be honest, of course I have signed here for three years, but in football it’s short-term as well. We have to win from the start. So I don’t look that far ahead.”

Ronaldo could end up staying at United since there are almost no clubs willing to go for him considering his age and his wage demands. Staying at United won’t be the worst thing to happen to Ronaldo but a sportsman of his caliber would want to finish his career on a high.
