Despite showcasing a productive display, Atletico Madrid failed to beat Manchester United in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 as the game ended by 1-1.

The hosts started the game in a blistering manner and got the lead early in the game thanks to the contribution from Joao Felix. The Rojiblancos dominated the first half and didn’t let the visitors play. Meanwhile, the Red Devils looked out of sorts at the start and the midfielders gave the ball away cheaply which allowed Diego Simeone’s side to impose their authority in the game.

Ralf Rangnick’s side finally got the equaliser, 10 minutes from the time when Reinaldo made a bad mistake which allowed substitute Anthony Elanga to finish off the chance.
