However, the La Liga giants will keep on trying till the end to find an agreement. Although, Mikel Arteta is also doing his best to convince the Spanish winger.

According to reports, Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Marco Asensio on a free transfer in the next summer transfer window. The report also claims that Mikel Arteta is trying his best to convince that the Gunners project is the best for his future. This is also after the Spanish winger has rejected multiple contract extension offers from Real Madrid.
However, Arsenal are not the only one in the race for his signature. Two surprising names are also in the race. Barcelona and Newcastle United are keeping an eye on his situation. This is because the Magpies could potentially play Champions League football next season. They are currently third on the Premier League table. Whereas, a report also claims that Asensio is open to a move to Barcelona. He would like to play under the management of Xavi.
REAL MADRID ARE TRYING THEIR BEST TO FIND AN AGREEMENT FOR A CONTRACT EXTENSION
The report also claims that Real Madrid have not yet fully lost hope on Marco Asensio. They are still in contact with his agent. However, they are not willing to match the financial demands. They can also not offer him promise of regular game time like Arsenal, Barcelona and Newcastle United. The first preference of Asensio is also to continue with Real Madrid.
However, he remains open to a move to Barcelona or the Premier League. AC Milan, Tottenham and PSG are also monitoring his situation. However, their interest is not advanced as Arsenal. The Gunners are also willing to pay him 6 million per season. Whereas, Real Madrid are not willing to match his demands of 6 million for one season.
Therefore, Arsenal know that a decision of Asensio will arrive in the next summer transfer window. However, they know that they have built the base for a possible arrival. The winger is also open to try playing in the Premier League.
