Achraf Hakimi pushed PSG to sign Chelsea attacker

Chelsea

PSG right-back Achraf Hakimi reportedly asked his club to acquire Chelsea’s forward in the winter transfer window. Meanwhile, Hakimi wanted his fellow Moroccan teammate Hakim Ziyech to sign for PSG from Chelsea.

Hakim Ziyech has failed to earn a first-team place at Chelsea. Meanwhile, his recent performances have been majorly poor for the Blues. The Moroccan winger signed for Chelsea from Ajax at a fee of €40 million in 2020.

Moreover, he has netted 14 goals and provided 11 assists in 100 appearances for Chelsea. However, he has helped the West London club to lift three trophies so far.

The Chelsea forward has started just five games in all competitions for Chelsea this season. However, with the signings of Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk, his spot in the starting 11 remains in contention.

According to Media Foot, Hakimi convinced the Parisian management to sign Ziyech from Chelsea in the winter transfer window. The PSG right-back considered Ziyech would be a perfect match for the Parisian club.

Moreover, the PSG management even decided to hold talks with their Chelsea counterparts about a potential move of Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccan winger is valued at €20 million and this signing would give PSG a much-needed depth at the right flank.

However, the Chelsea forward is also on the radars of various other clubs. Meanwhile, the likes of Newcastle United, AS Roma, FC Barcelona, and AC Milan are also reportedly interested to acquire the services of Ziyech. With his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, more clubs might join in to sign the winger.

So, it remains to be seen if Paris Saint-Germain would manage to sign Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea before the deadline day.
