Marco Asensio looking to leave Real Madrid

About Football Express UK

Asensio, the RMA winger is even willing to take a pay cut in order to leave Madrid. Big sharks like Arsenal and Liverpool have been on the lookout for the Spanish forward.

The Spaniard has entered into the final 12 months of his contract and his future at the club is uncertain.

Asensio is not sure about game time in Madrid

Asensio is looking for more first team action as he reaches the prime of his career which he is lacking under Carlo Ancelotti. The Madrid winger made 42 appearances for Los Blancos but only started 23 times. The forward scored 12 goals in those appearances.

Giants from Europe, like Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan have been on the look out for the winger from Palma. Though he is going to be a free agent in 2023, Madrid are said to value Asensio at somewhere between €25m (£21.6m) and €30m (£25.8m).

Asensio’s achievements with Los Blancos

Madrid’s number 11, has won a plethora of tournaments. Playing for them from the right-wing and the center (when needed), he has won 3 UCL, 2 UEFA Super Cups, 3 Spanish Super Cups, 3 Fifa Club World Cups, and 3 La Liga titles.

Liverpool will look to fill the gap that’s created with the departure of their winger Sadio Mane with the signing of Asensio from Madrid.

Other clubs like Newcastle United are also eyeing the Madrid winger as their marquee signing. The Saudi Arabian Public Fund financing the club can help them make this happen. That being said, whether Asensio will be looking for a club with no European football action is another thing altogether.
