Manchester United are in the race to sign the Nigerian Napoli Striker Victor Osimhen. This summer the transfer window for them is pretty open to a bunch of new talent and According to espn, Osimhen is one of the other three center-forward options, for the Red devils.

Along with Victor Osimhen, Manchester United is also rumored to be interested in signing in Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko and Hotspur’s record goalscorer Harry Kane.
In spite of signing in Wout Weghorst in the January transfer window. Erik Ten Hag’s interest is to fulfill a long-term center forward option for Manchester United.
Sports media channel ESPN is also reporting that signing Osimhen could cost United approximately £90 million as per Napoli’s negotiation. Victor Osimhen joined Napoli in 2020. The Nigerian still has over two years of tenure left on his current deal, which is to run out in July 2025
Victor Osimhen is the number 1 target
There have already been enough hints that United would be quite eager to get Osimhen this summer. As reported by Journalist Carlo Garganese in a recent interview with GMS (givemesport.com)
Garganese dubbed Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis as the “absolute master” at selling big stars. Hinting that he might hold out Osimhen for a big fee, as long as United comes looking for him. As a rising star, Osimhen’s future ahead of 2023/24 remains quite obvious in playing for Napoli.
The transfer expert Romano is said in a GMS media interview that any decision about the striker will be taken at the end of the season.
On United’s search for a striker, Romano commented,
“Dusan Vlahovic depends on the Juventus situation. Victor Osimhen at the moment, Napoli doesn’t even want to negotiate for him. Napoli just wants to focus on the season and then in the summer they will decide on how many players they sell.”
Real Madrid and Arsenal have also shown interest in Osimhen and could also bid for him along with Manchester United.
