Manchester United submit a bid for Martinez

Manchester United

Manchester United have been connected with Argentine international Lisandro Martinez for a while. Now, many sources say that the Red Devils have tabled a proposal for him. According to Hernan Sisto of Tyc Sports, the Manchester United club wants to recruit the La Albiceleste centre half and have made a proposal of 40 million euros (£35 million).
Ajax, on the other hand, is hoping for a considerably larger price for its treasured possession. According to The Daily Telegraph, the Dutch champs are seeking roughly £50 million from Manchester United.
The 24-year-old was a crucial player of Erik ten Hag’s Dutch Eredivisie-winning club last season.
The South American defender appeared in 23 league games and contributed to the team’s 16 clean sheets. In addition, he scored a goal and assisted on three more in the offensive third.

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United has come to a “broad understanding.”

This is with Barcelona about midfielder Frenkie de Jong‘s potential trade. United has made a first-round proposal of £65 million to Barcelona for the Dutch international. A few hours later, it emerged that Manchester United is attempting to sabotage Tyrell Malacia’s transfer from Feyenoord to Lyon. The director of the Dutch club claims that a transfer to Manchester United is “imminent.”

While personal conditions are still being discussed with the player, the amount has not yet been announced. The agreement with Feyenoord appears to be finalized.

Manchester United’s target’s profile

Martinez has made seven appearances for Argentina’s senior national team so far; he was a member of the team that won the Copa America last year and was an unused replacement when Argentina defeated Italy to win the Finalissima trophy earlier this month.

During the previous campaign, defence was one of Manchester United’s weaker departments. Despite buying a world-class player in Varane and possessing the most expensive defender in Premier League history, Maguire, United surrendered 57 goals.

If the backline is not upgraded this summer, elite clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City will run riot again next season.
