Manchester United Star linked with a swap to Real Madrid or Chelsea

About Football Express UK

Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly intends to move in the January transfer window. London giants Chelsea and his former club, Real Madrid are likely potential destinations.

The Portuguese legend had wanted to move in January, but a transfer failed to materialize. The 37-year-old’s future at Manchester presently seems uncertain.

Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, has already been tasked with finding the striker a new club in January. And apparently, Chelsea and Real Madrid are the only clubs who “can legitimately give him the transfer he wants”.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United- Conflict over the Summer

Ronaldo, who scored his 700th Goal recently against Everton, joined his former club Manchester United last season from Juventus. He stood out as United’s best performer in an overall poor season. Ronaldo scored 18 League goals last season, helping United to a sixth-place finish.

Ronaldo likely does not wish to play in the Europa League, probably wishing to return to the Champions League. He is also sidelined by new manager Erik Ten Hag. The Dutch Manager prefers starting Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford as his main strikers. Both have been some of United’s best players this season.

Ronaldo wishes to return to the Champions League and has won multiple Champions Leagues during his time with Los Blancos. However, a return to Madrid seems unlikely.
