ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Manchester United must make vital decisions after their loss to Arsenal

The new Premier League season is only a few weeks old. Hence Manchester United is already demonstrating signs of turmoil. There’s uncertainty surrounding the ownership situation with the Glazers. Hence, there appears to be a public dispute between Jadon Sancho and Erik ten Hag on social media regarding Sancho’s role in the team.

Alejandro Garnacho of manchester United sprint toward the penalty area with just two minutes of regular time left should have secured the victory for them. In fact, it seemed like it had, once he successfully placed the ball beyond Aaron Ramsdale.

However, to the disappointment of many, VAR intervened and disallowed the goal due to an offside call. Subsequently, two late goals from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus tilted the proceedings at the Emirates Stadium in favor of the hosts. Resulting in a final score of 3-1.

Should Manchester United let Martial leave?

The Frenchman made his debut in the Premier League for Manchester United as far back as 2015. Hence, there were high expectations surrounding his arrival. In fact, there was so much hope that a Ballon d’Or clause was in the agreement with Monaco for his transfer to Manchester United.

At 27 years old, Martial should be in his prime. But he has never quite seemed destined for major success at the club. His loan to Sevilla for a brief period is indicative of the limited regard in which he is held.

Martial appears to be quite desolate. With only one shot attempted throughout the entire game. And a success rate of just two out of five duels won.

Based on his brief appearance on Sunday, he was making efforts to exploit the channels and make runs behind the defense. Meanwhile, Martial might be in line for a spot on the bench once the international break concludes.

Manchester United had more alternatives at the center-forward position. Hence, it’s likely that his tenure under Ten Hag would have come to an end. Regardless, he doesn’t appear to be a dependable choice anymore for the Dutch manager.
