Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz to sign him in the current transfer window. This was reported by Calcio Napoli 24 who also states that United have ‘contacted’ Ruiz. Moreover, with this development Napoli are ‘irritated’ as Ruiz plots a move out of Italy.
Journals from Italy recently stated that the Red Devils had spoken to Ruiz over phone calls. Therefore, it is now evident that United have identified Ruiz as a potential target. Calcio Mercato reports that Ruiz is valued at around €45million (£38m). However, it is expected that Napoli would not get a fee as high as that.
The reason is that Ruiz has only a year left on his contract. Therefore, he would have to be sold at a much lower price.Central midfield is an area of concern for Erik Ten Hag. Therefore, he needs to strengthen it. However, with De Jong and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s deals lurking, Ruiz could be a good alternative at a great bargain.

United boss is looking for someone who could come and take the place of Paul Pogba. Moreover, it looks that the Spaniard has been on United’s radar to fill in that position. Ruiz’s game style has drawn comparison to that of Xavi by The Coaches Voice.
Though he is not at par with Xavi he has similar attributes. Ruiz has diversity when it comes to his playing position. He can play in the central midfield position or lay deep. Moreover, he can even play higher up the pitch as an attacker.
He had a good last term with Napoli. He scored seven goals and provided five assists in the 38 matches that he played. His technique is exquisite and he passes the ball very well. His vision is also extraordinary.
