The 28-year-old defender Aymeric Laporte has fallen out with the club manager Pep Guardiola.

The main reason for his transfer is a lack of time. Laporta has not been Guardiola’s first choice this season. He has started only six games this season and had very few minutes on the field.

It has also come to highlight that the club would not let him join their rival Arsenal for the league title this season. Other clubs that are interested in the defender are Tottenham and Barcelona.
Barcelona are in a prime position to sign Laporte but La Liga’s financial restrictions could stop them from getting his signature.
History
The 28-year-old Laporte has been an important player for Manchester City since joining the club from Athletic Club Bilbao in 2018. He has won four Premier League titles, four League Cups, and an FA Cup during his time in Manchester. The defender has a contract with the Premier League club until the summer of 2025 but will not stand in between his departure.
Laporte is versatile enough to play as CB and also LB which can raise interest among other clubs like Real Madrid who are thinking of releasing Mendy and buying a new Left back. As the 28-year-old will be entering his prime years he is seen as an easy fit in any team in the world.
