Is Manchester City considering to swap Gundogan, and Arthur with Juventus?

About Football Express UK

Manchester City are reportedly, looking for Arthur from Juventus in exchange for Gundogan. Arsenal being linked with the Brazilian midfielder throughout the summer. Despite that, looks like City can beat the Gunners to a deal.

According to reports from Calciomercato, via The Mirror, the PL winners are thinking of a deal with Juve which might result in Gundogan and Arthur swapping clubs.

The arrival of Kalvin Phillips might lead to a decrease in playtime for the German playmaker at the Etihad. Gundogan has only 1 year left in his contract. City doesn’t want to have a situation where they have to let go of Gundogan on a free transfer.

Arthur landed on Juventus in a swap deal with Miralem Pjanic which brought him from Barcelona. It was a short stay at Turin for Arthur after making only 11 appearances for Juventus in Serie A.

City could look to snap Arthur from under Arsenal’s nose this transfer window with the German heading to Turin. That being said, Bayern Munich are also looking to challenge City in the race for Gundogan.

Juventus also interested in City playmaker Gundogan

Ilkay Gundogan has been one of City’s star players in the previous seasons. The German had an incredible season in the 2020/21 campaign. The playmaker was City’s top goal scorer in the PL as they went on to win the title.

Gundogan was just as pivotal for City winning the title last season. The playmaker netted two goals in the Cityzens’ title-deciding game against Aston Villa. He helped the club make a comeback from being 2-0 down to win the game 3-2.
