Manchester City wants to have Arsenal’s left-back Kieran Tierney in their squad. Certainly, Reigning Premier League Champions is City’s main target this season. City are ready to put their name in the list of teams who won their title three times in a row. Manchester City will be going all out to win their third straight Premier League title for the 2022-23 season. Moreover, the English Club wants to conquer the summit of the English Premier League this season. So as to secure their fifth top-flight crown in their last six seasons. City became the only club to retain their title not once but twice this decade. Pep’s side City won the Premier League title last season. However, they lost their chance to win a Treble, as they fell short in both domestic and the European Championship.
Kieran Tierney for Arsenal or Manchester City this season?
The hunger of winnig titles can be seen through City’s tranfers windwo activity. City signed the Norwegian Striker Erling Haaland. Furthermore, City signed Argentine centre-forward Julian Alvarez. Haaland and Julian Alvarez is Pep’s key attacking option for the starting XI this season. But City’s boss Pep Guardiola alos wants to work on the teams Defensive Line. 25-year-old Scottish professional footballer, Kieran Tierney is left-back or centre-back for Arsenal. But due to his greater adaptability and command in the back line caught Pep’s eyes. Subsequently, the City manager Pep Guardiola keep the Scottish star left back as an option in his squad.
Also, City have been in market for a left-back all summer. And Marc Cucurella was their top target at the start of the window. But shortly, the Spanish joined the Blues earlier this month due to Brighton’s rising price.
In July, Arsenal signed City’s Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Zinchenko. The 25-year-old Ukrainian, defended the City goal since 2017 – 2018 sesaon. Since then, Zinchenko had been a favourite option for Pep as a Left-back.
But Ukrainian flight from City to the Gunners created a spot for a left-back at City squad. The Gunners signed the Ukrainian with an intention of playing him in midfield. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian strated his season with Gunners as a left-back, putting Tierney off to bench.
Pep wants to add a left-back to his squad the club are discussing on several alternatives options in the market. Atletico’s Renan Lodi, Dortmund’s Raphaël Guerreiro and Stuttgart’s Borna Sosa are some player CIty are interested to put in the squad. But as reaching towards the end of the summer tranfer window the City’s can target the Scottish international.
